Tip - Disposing Of Cooking Grease

Got grease congealing in a pan from the burgers you just fried? The worst thing in the world for garbage disposals or kitchen drains is grease. Flush your toilet and pour grease in as water goes down. Flush again after toilet fills for good measure. If the grease is congealed, wipe pan out with paper towels and toss towels into the kitchen garbage.

  1. I thought everybody poured the grease into the old milk or orange juice carton, and then threw that away. Towels naked against a paper bag are disastrous, and a plastic bag that tears with greasy stuff in it is a mess to clean up.

I do, however, deduce from this tip that you don't have carpet in your bathroom. :)

  2. You are right, I do not have carpet in my downstairs bathroom. I buy the heavy duty kitchen trash bags. I know they are more expensive but I, like you have had the cheap ones tear on me and I don't like cleaning up the mess. Thanks for your comment.
